Please Note: The
Beaded Row Counter bracelet workshop has been moved to Saturday October
6th.
Tri-Loom
Weaving: THIS
Sunday September 16th, from 4 to 7 pm. We have a few slots still open. Registration Fee: $35.00,
plus $10. loom use fee to instructor if you do not own a tri-loom. 3ft Tri-looms
may be purchased from the instructor. If you've always been fascinated by
weaving but overwhelmed by looms with heddles and peddles and shuttles
and all that weaving stuff, this is for you. In 3 hours, you can
complete a small shawlette - how's that for instant
gratification? Click here for more
details. These make great gifts just as they are, or you can combine them to
make larger shawls or afghans. And you can always move up to a larger loom for
larger projects.

Cascade Yarn Tasting in just two weeks:
September 29th & 30th
|
|
We have a fantastic Yarn Tasting
featuring the entire line of Cascade yarns scheduled on September 29th and 30th.
We've still got open spaces in both of them, so come in and sign up, or call the
shop and send us a check.
Mike, our Cascade rep, will be here and set up a shop full of yarn tasting
stations and is bringing doorprizes (lots of them) as well.
We have trunk show models coming in and the books with the patterns are in
already. Mike will be here with all of his color cards, so that you can order
anything you'd like from their line, even if we don't normally carry it.
The $10 registration fee will go to Animal Rescue.
Diane and I are working on gift
bags for everyone with 2 Cascade yarns - a classic and a brand new one and free
patterns to put them together!
Click here for the Event flyer with all the
details.

Additional Upcoming Classes: |
|
Spiderweb Pocket
Flyer Class for Crocheters: Diane offered her quadwing version of this class back in the spring - this
one is for you Halloween buffs. We don't have a flyer yet, but we do have a
picture, a date and a time: Wednesday October 10th, from 5 to 8pm. I think I'm
going to have to make one in pumpkin orange...... If you get off from work at
5pm and want to take the class, please let us know and Diane will coordinate
with you to make sure you don't miss anything.
Mittens and
Gloves: Diane is going to offer a mittens and gloves class on
MWF October 22 / 24 / 26 from 530 to 730. Most of the participants in her recent
sock anatomy class have signed up for it already (they got to pick the dates) so
there are only a few slots left and we don't have pictures for the flyer yet but
Diane has finished making the samples. The registration fee is $65.00; if we get
enough demand, Diane may open up another session of it. The class will do both
mittens and gloves, with the selected project depending on the skill level of
the registrant. If you just want to do mittens, you can, if you want to try
fingers, that option will be available to you as
well.

We now Tweet: @YarnExpressions |
|
We have added Twitter as another
way of keeping you updated on what's going on in the shop. If you're interested,
click on the Follow us logo to !
The plan is to let you know when
we receive merchandise that you might want to know about. And maybe an
occasional last minute sale or special offer or?!?
For example, this week we
received 150 skeins of Marble Chunky - all the great fall colors and enough to
make almost any project you have in mind. And 80 skeins of Cascade EcoDuo,
including the much loved colorway Zebra! And some more DellaQ needle cases and
Edict Bags.
While our tweets won't be this
long, this is the kind of information we'll be sharing. We are hoping to be
able to stream the tweets to the website as well, for those of you who don't
tweet!

Madeline Tosh Special Order Window is
Open |
|
There's just under 2 more weeks
left to special order Madeline Tosh yarns from us for this year. Our next
order will probably not be until late spring, so if you want something specific,
please order it now. We are on the schedule to be dyed and shipped sometime in October. So, if any of
you would like to get something specific for a project you have in mind, this is
your last chance for this year from us. We do have color samples in the shop to
help you decide your selections. |
