2 Openings in Gloves and Mittens
Class!
|
|
We had an emergency cancellation in the upcoming Gloves and Mittens class
Diane will be teaching next week so we have 2 slots available again.
The class will meet on Monday / Wednesday / Friday (October 22/24/26) from 530 to 730pm. Novice knitters will
knit mittens, more experienced knitters can knit either mittens or
gloves.
The registration fee is $65.00. Click Here for the class flier. You can call the shop to
pre-register if you can't make it in over the weekend to pay for your
registration. The homework assignment that needs to be completed before the
Monday session is described in the flier.

Hiring a Holiday Season Sales
Associate |
|
We
NEED another part-time person to work in the shop for the holiday season, and
possibly beyond.
If you're in the shop on a regular basis, you may have noticed some
staffing changes. Andrea has left us because 24 hours a day was simply not
enough to accomplish everything she was trying to do. Sarah had already joined
us to pick up the weekend swing shift hours that we needed someone for, but has
stepped up to take over Andrea's hours instead.
So, now we need someone who can work on Thursday, Friday and Saturday,
typically from 12noon or so until 4pm or so, at least for the rest of the
year. If you're interested in staying on after the Christmas holiday season, the
hours will change, but it is possible.
We need a strong knitter, although crocheting, spinning and/or weaving
skills are a plus. As many of you know, we spend a lot of time helping people
with projects and understanding patterns and putting together yarn and pattern
combinations, so these need to be things you are comfortable with. We can teach
you the rest. Computer literacy is a must but that's pretty much a requirement
everywhere these days.
If you're interested, send me an email, and then stop by the shop and
introduce yourself to the staff and talk to them about the position. They get
consulted on all hiring decisions these
days.

Tango BiColor Mesh 25% Off!
|
|
We still have a pile of colors of this quick to knit or crochet
mesh yarn, so we marked it down to clear it out. It's a skinnier mesh and a
shorter length, so it's great for our younger fashionistas, or if you want to
wear several scarves together. We are unable to get more of this specific yarn,
so if you've been thinking about it, grab it before it's
gone.

New Yarns & Patterns in the
Shop! |
|
The current Classic Elite trunk
shows - Liberty Wool Kids for sizes 2 through 12, and Ebony and Ivory knitted in the
lovely alpaca and bamboo Vail are on display through the end of the upcoming
week. If you haven't stopped in to check them out, you defintely should,
especially if you want to knit gifts for kids older than toddler but not yet
wearing grown-up styles and sizes. Liberty Wool Kids is a great collection of
knitted garments for girls and boys and our Liberty Wool restock is due at the
end of the week and Vail is already in stock, along with both
books.
Plymouth
Holiday Lights (Encore with Glitter) is back in stock, as is Universal
Classic Shades and a new yarn from SMC called Passion Chunky - it's a bit like
the Classic Shades but slightly heavier and comes in wonderful colors and
practically knits itself. And a fun yarn from Berroco called
Circus.

Incoming Special Orders! |
|
The last of the Cascade special
orders from the Yarn Tasting are on their way and will be in by the end of next
week (it takes a full week and then some for the boxes to make it down here from
Tukwila, WA). We're also got lots of colors of 128Superwash coming in the same
shipment, and Venezia Sport in the next shipment.
And we still have someone's black
jacket left on Saturday evening, I think, hanging up in back. If it's yours,
please call and let us know when You'll come by and pick it up.
I'm hoping for the MadelineTosh
yarn restock and special orders in the next week to ten days, but they haven't
called so they may be running behind. If you're waiting on a special order,
we'll let you know as soon as we hear more.
